Vintage Oak Bombé Three-Drawer Chest

Product details

Seller's Notes:A beautifully proportioned vintage oak bombé chest featuring three curved drawer fronts, ornate metal hardware, and sculptural animal-paw feet. Its compact size and warm wood finish make it a charming storage piece for a bedroom, living room, or entryway. The chest features a gently shaped rectangular top above a distinctive curved-front case. The sides incorporate pronounced sculptural contours that follow the profile of the drawers, giving the cabinet its classic bombé silhouette. Each drawer front is accented by decorative metal ring-style bail pulls and a matching central escutcheon ornament. The darkened hardware provides an attractive contrast against the warm brown finish and prominent oak grain. A scalloped apron with a carved central shell motif runs beneath the lower drawer, while the front supports terminate in decorative animal-paw feet. These elements give the chest a traditional European appearance inspired by Dutch Baroque and Rococo furniture. Likely dating to the early-to-mid 20th century, the cabinet combines vintage character with versatile proportions. Measuring only 26 inches wide and 14 inches deep, it is particularly well suited for use as a nightstand, bedside storage cabinet, or compact accent chest. The wood displays visible surface wear and variations in the finish, including a darker rectangular mark on the top. An attractive addition to traditional, farmhouse, French Provincial, and eclectic interiors. Dimensions: 26”W × 14”D × 24”H Condition: age appropriate wear, vintage finish worn, scuffs/scratches, edge wear, discoloration, interior marks, see photos.
