The solid butcher block top sits above ten shallow felt-lined drawers, each with chrome round pulls and individual label holders in a mix of brass and chrome styles accumulated over decades of active use. A locking mechanism secures the full cabinet. Oak-finish veneer drawer fronts, laminate carcass, consistent with American institutional specimen storage furniture of the mid-to-late twentieth century. A practical and characterful piece that works for its original purpose — flat storage of specimens, documents, or archival materials — or repurposed for a studio, home office, or interior that responds to the honest utility of institutional objects. The museum collection provenance adds a layer of history that purely commercial furniture simply doesn’t carry.
