Seller's Notes:City Hall Chairs by Roland Rainer for A. & E. Pollak, Wien, 1950s Birch & Beechwood 6 available, sold individually. Stacking chairs, designed Roland Rainer, manufacturer A.E. Pollak. Vienna, 1956. This piece is a well-known design that is well documented in general design literature. Classic 10 dot perforated backs and perfect stackable design. Roland Rainer used these chairs for the Viennese city hall, Wiener Stadthalle in 1956-1962. The chair was named after that as the well-known "Stadthallensessel". Today, these chairs are one of the most sought after Austrian midcentury design objects. They feature solid beechwood bases brown lacquered beech plywood seats. Very good vintage condition with signs of use due to their age.
