Pair of Vintage Round Rattan Footstools

Product details

Seller's Notes:A stylish pair of vintage round rattan and bamboo-style footstools featuring warm honey-colored frames and circular black tufted cushions. Their sculptural openwork bases and organic silhouettes bring a relaxed bohemian character to a variety of interiors. Likely dating to the 1970s–1980s, the pair reflects the tropical modern furniture designs popular during the mid-to-late 20th century. Each frame features layered circular upper rails supported by slender vertical cane elements. Gracefully curved arches connect the upper structure to a continuous circular lower stretcher, creating an attractive pattern of intersecting straight and curved forms. The natural golden-brown coloring of the rattan emphasizes the organic character of the construction, while the open framework provides visual interest from multiple angles. Traditional wrapped connections contribute to the distinctive appearance of vintage cane furniture. The circular cushions feature black fabric upholstery with deep button tufting and softly rounded profiles. Their dark color complements the warm tones of the bases, creating an appealing contrast between natural materials and tailored upholstery. The pair coordinates beautifully with vintage lounge chairs, upholstered sofas, natural wood furniture, and other rattan or bamboo furnishings. The combination of warm cane and black fabric also works especially well alongside chrome, glass, and walnut furniture. Their compact rounded forms make them attractive decorative accents for a living room, sunroom, bedroom, or eclectic interior incorporating coastal and tropical influences.
