Neoclassical Brass Column Table Lamp

Product details

Seller's Notes: A distinctive vintage Neoclassical Revival table lamp featuring an ornate fluted column, decorative metalwork, and a substantial circular pedestal supported by sculptural animal-paw feet. The lamp combines classical architectural detailing with richly aged metallic surfaces, creating an elegant accent for traditional, vintage, and eclectic interiors. The central column is decorated with vertical fluting and acanthus-inspired foliage, while layered circular moldings add depth to its architectural silhouette. The substantial pedestal features an openwork band of repeating classical leaf motifs, complemented by three ornamental paw feet. The dark patinated metal finish incorporates warmer brass-tone highlights that emphasize the sculptural details throughout the design. A rectangular black fabric shade with gently flared sides provides a striking contrast to the ornate base. The lamp features a traditional two-socket lighting arrangement beneath the shade. Dating to the 20th century, the design reflects Neoclassical and French Empire Revival influences. Its combination of architectural ornamentation, decorative metal casting, and animal-foot supports gives it a stately appearance without requiring an overly elaborate surrounding interior. Well suited to a living room side table, bedroom dresser, study, library, or entryway console, the lamp pairs particularly well with antique wood furniture, traditional upholstery, and transitional decorative schemes. The metal surfaces retain a dark aged patina with visible wear consistent with vintage use. The black fabric lampshade also shows signs of age and handling. Dimensions: 12.5w 7.5d 20h Condition: age appropriate wear , vintage finish worn , scuffs/scratches, edge wear, discoloration, see photos.
