Seller's Notes:Owned for approximately ten years, purchased from an estate sale. Estimated age of item 1950s-1960s. This is an original, not a reproduction. Appears to be original upholstery which is in great condition for age. The daybed is in excellent structural condition. Some wear on back of sofa/wood where the upholstery attaches to the frame. Several insignificant fabric pulls. Slight discoloration on the front of the sofa (front edge of cushion, NOT cushion/seat)-not really visible. Solid piece of MCM furniture. Rare to find one this age, in this condition. From a nonsmoking home, we do have a dog (doodle). No odors.
Key characteristics of this style:
Design Era: The daybed is typical of mid-20th-century design, originating around the 1950s or 1960s.
Functionality: This furniture style often includes removable back cushions, allowing it to convert easily from a sofa into a temporary bed or daybed.
The Bentwood Daybed is produced from twenty-six layers of Birch. The powder-coated metal spring set is covered with a removable canvas cover. The Bentwood legs and back rest supports are produced at our California factory using Hard Rock Maple or North American Walnut. The mattress and two bolsters are produced with high-density foam. Remove the bolsters, and the daybed converts into a guest bed. Create a sectional by combining other pieces from the collection. Available in a wide variety of fabrics and leathers.
When ordering walnut, the frame will be produced in maple wood and stained in a walnut finish. The wood backrest, supports, and the Bentwood legs are North American walnut veneer
