John Dickinson Small African Side Table
Product details
Seller's Notes:Artful signed cast from original molds in materials designed to withstand the elements. John Dickinson "African" table. The iconic design was created by the San Francisco-based decorator and designer in the 1970s. The table was inspired by a traditional African wood stool that Dickinson found in an import shop. It is a sculptural side or end table with a round, conical top and three stylized legs. The legs are substantial and were inspired by traditional African design, culminating in feet. Another of his designs, the "Hoofed" table, features legs with hooves. Early versions were made of pine, but Dickinson soon began casting them in plaster with a resin coating for durability and a smooth, white finish. The tables had metal rebar to reinforce the legs.
