Seller's Notes:This Design Within Reach (DWR) AJ Floor Lamp is a modern furniture work of art in and of itself! We recently redecorated our daughter's room where this served as a reading light for about 5 years behind her bed. The lamp works perfectly, is totally stable and has just one super tiny nick at the top of the base. Retailing at nearly $1200, we are offering this lamp at a steal hoping it will serve a lifetime in the caring hands of another design aficionado! From the DWR website description of this lamp: "Copenhagen native Arne Jacobsen was among the first to introduce modern furniture to Denmark. He created his AJ Floor Lamp (1960) to echo the oblique angles of his Series 3300 furniture, which included the Egg Chair and Swan Chair. To maximize its functionality, Jacobsen fitted it with a shade that tilts up or down. This lamp was designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen designed every element."
