Seller's Notes: The chairs are what I believe is generally referred to as Jacobean Revival. Hand-carved baks, shapely details on the front legs. Not sure about the age, probably made mid-century or earlier, and likely to have been made by the Kensington Furniture company - they were acquired together with a table by that company in similar style and wood (see last picture; the table is on sale as a separate listing). Not a set, no maker's marks on the chairs. I am quite certain that the wood is oak (because of the appearance and the weight). They are quite heavy, and very ample in size, which makes for comfort. To supplement the dimensions on the listing, the height of the seat is approximately 18.5 inches, the height of the back - approximately 36. The depth of the seat is 17 and 3/4 of an inch. The seat widens, so it measures approximately 18.5 inches at the back and 21 and 3/4 at its edge. The condition of the chairs is very solid. However there is a difference between the chairs in terms of condition: two have cracks at the top edge of the back, where one of the finials is fit in. Could be glued together. The finials themselves can be removed. Otherwise, there is some discoloration, especially on the seats and seat edges; some are better than others, as can be seen from the pictures. Also true about the lower panel where one can put ones feet; some small nicks in the wood there. One of the seats has a bit of a dent in the wood.
