Seller's Notes:I purchased this dear giraffe at the International African Arts Festival in Brooklyn several years ago and it has brought delight to my living room ever since. Because it's quite narrow, it takes up very little floor space while still making a bold statement. Even a very small apartment can accommodate this beautiful giraffe. I'm not sure exactly where in Africa this gem originates from, but I was recently in South Africa and saw some of its handmade siblings there. Because this statue is handcrafted and traveled from Africa, there is a natural patina to it that goes unnoticed unless one were to really study the piece. I've included a picture of the most noticeable scratches, which came with the piece. Also due to its handmade nature, it does wobble slightly. This could easily be remedied by placing a small bit of felt under the everso slightly shorter leg. I've never actually done this, as the piece stands fine on its own and the very slight wobble never affected anything. A few years ago, a small bit of white paint dripped on the back left foot, which was wiped off, but a trace of it remains (picture included). This is also generally unnoticeable given that it's in the back and only an inch up from the floor. This beautiful giraffe would love a new home and will make an excellent statement in your home or office.
