Seller's Notes:This is a beloved authentic Jean Prouvé “Cité” Lounge Chair manufactured by Vitra — one of Prouvé’s most iconic designs. I purchased it several years ago and have used it lightly in a clean, smoke-free home. It’s an incredibly comfortable, sculptural chair that works beautifully in both modern and eclectic spaces. The canvas sling is in very good condition and the leather straps have softened naturally over time, as expected with genuine Vitra production. There is one small mark on seat that can be cleaned or removed with a gentle wash. This chair has lived in a quiet reading corner and has been very well cared for. I’m only selling it because I’m moving oversees. More photos can be provided on request.

The Cité armchair is an early masterpiece by the French designer and engineer Jean Prouvé. Originally designed to furnish the student residence halls at the Cité Universitaire in Nancy, Prouvé also used this comfortable, expansive armchair with powder-coated steel runners and leather belt armrests in the living room of his own home.
