Seller's Notes:Six-drawer dresser in solid maple with clean mid-century lines and recessed drawer pulls. This piece has an interesting backstory: it was originally finished in a darker stain, but a skilled restorer stripped it back to reveal the natural maple underneath. The result is warmer and more distinctive than the typical darker finishes you see on vintage pieces. The wood shows beautiful natural grain variation with honey tones throughout. You get the kind of straightforward, quality construction you don't see much anymore: dovetailed drawers, solid wood (not veneer), and that satisfying weight when you open and close the drawers. The recessed pulls keep the front clean and modern. Excellent condition with light use. I've owned this for three years and it's been in a guest room, so it hasn't seen heavy daily wear. The maple has a nice patina, and some drawers show lighter coloring where the wood hasn't oxidized as much (visible in photos), which is typical for maple. One drawer is missing a drawer stop on one side, so it can wiggle a bit when fully extended, but it's an easy fix. All drawers otherwise glide smoothly, no structural issues. Gerald McCabe pieces are known for their solid craftsmanship and thoughtful proportions. This one works equally well in a bedroom or as a media console if you need versatile storage. Originally purchased for $3,000 after the professional refinishing.
