Vintage/Antique Mahogany Dining Table
Product details
Seller's Notes:A classic mid-century, Chippendale Revival dining table, crafted in the United States circa 1952-1957. This piece showcases carved ball-and-claw feet with acanthus carving, a rope-twisted edge, and an extendable top with original leaf which folds up and out. The table is constructed with solid mahogany legs and apron mahogany veneer over a hardwood/plywood core top, and traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery reinforced by curved corner blocks. Machine-cut dovetail construction and all-slotted screws confirm the mid-1950s period. Original stamped steel leaf hardware and alignment plates remain intact. The surface retains its hand-applied lacquer finish, beautifully ambered with age, showing light wear consistent with over 60 years of careful use. This table embodies both elegance and durability, making it a timeless centerpiece for formal dining.
