Vintage WWII Liberty Ship Hatch Coffee Table
Product details
Seller's Notes:When I lived in Atlanta, a friend who was downsizing and moving to San Francisco made me a trade of this coffee table, which is made from an authentic real wood Liberty Ship hatch from World War II. It is extremely sturdy, and its origins are unfortunately unknown. (His father had given it to him.) It is in really good condition given its history. The finish on top is still very solid, as are the supports underneath. There are some scratches, and a few nicks here in there, but for a piece like this they really just lend character. It's my turn to move and downsize, so this beautiful piece needs a good home, preferably one with a great appreciation for history and the majesty of those old ships. These hatches are extremely rare, and coffee tables made from them even rarer. A unique piece you'll want to talk about often.
