Vintage Russel Wright Spun Aluminum Cheese & Cracker Board
Product details
Seller's Notes:Russel Wright (1904-1976) was the premier American Industrial designer during the middle of the 20th century. Wright used spun aluminum as a way to make serving pieces not only durable but also priced for the average household. He combined the aluminum with raffia, cork and wood to reflect his interest in organic shapes and materials. The pieces were manufactured from the early1930’s to the early 1940’s. They are all OVER 70 YEARS OLD! Some of his earliest work. This is a very nice example of his iconic cheese and cracker server complete with lid. It is in very good original condition with only a few minor dings and typical scratches and discoloration (see photos). The wood is also in very good condition with only minor age surface cracking. Regular RUSSEL WRIGHT mark on the lid as well as a "PAT APPL'D FOR RUSSEL WRIGHT" stamp on the bottom of the wood. 16” diameter 9 3/8" wood diameter 5" high I am a 30 year collector of Russel Wright. Unfortunately I have to downsize and clear out my storage space.
