Seller's Notes:When I bought this sofa from a man in the Bronx on AptDeco in 2017, I was its second owner. His parents originally bought it in the 1960s. In its first life, it was covered in pink brocade. I went to Mood Fabrics in the Garment District, bought this cherry red velvet, and found a fantastic former punk-rock band guitar-playing female upholsterer at the Brooklyn Army Terminal to redo the sofa and create a new seat bench. (She delivered it to my apartment in heels.) The sofa comfortably sits two people and naps one- my 6'5" brother even slept on it for a few weeks. It is precisely three cats long. The beautifully carved wood legs give it a Golden Age vibe and create the feeling of lightness, which is exactly what interior designers suggest for small spaces. You won't find anything else like this.
