Seller's Notes:Originating from Morocco in 1950, this vintage mid-century Berber Moroccan rug employs of the most uncommon geometric patterns of its kind. Hand knotted in high quality wool pile, the rich and bright hues of tangerine red and burnt orange accent the thick, textural field before the one-sided geometric brown grid pattern takes the lower half of the piece. While grid patterns typically either showcase finesse or portray agricultural fields, this distinct combination of colors and patterns may symbolize a view of the fields at sunset, as Berber colors have been known for many interpretations of their weaver’s perceptions.
