Seller's Notes:This is a vintage metal cabinet / bookcase with 2 shelves (aka a barristers' cabinet or lawyers' cabinet). Each shelf has a glass cover that slides up and over the items on the shelf. I purchased this item in a well-known vintage store in NYC (Olde Good Things) about 20 years ago, so it's at least that old! It has areas of discoloration (rust?) but otherwise it's in good shape. Note there are 4 holes on the top (perhaps for adding & securing another bookshelf on top of this cabinet.) It's a classic and well-loved midcentury item that can be used in so many ways - to hold and protect books or display curios or bar items.
