Seller's Notes:Purchased this many years ago as a restoration project. Never got around to it! This elegant and majestic frigate model was crafted in Spain, circa 1950. Named "Frigata Espana," the large naval sailboat sits on an integral wooden base decorated with a small plaque which reads "Frigata Espana Ano 1780." The main boat itself features authentic and unique details including many string ringings, spare boats, hanging netting, a steering wheel, and two anchors. The piece of maritime art is in fair condition commensurate with age and use, and was planned to be renewed with a hand painted finish throughout, with the body of the ship painted black and gold details adorning the several guns on either side of the ship. The billowing sails have brown vertical stripes and feature a large crest composed of a double-headed eagle, a crown, and a smaller crest on the chest of the eagle. The model vessel would resonate with sailors or other seafaring enthusiasts.
