The “butterfly” in the name refers to the small swing-away piece used to support the drop-leaf. A mid-century modern classic, this dining table was designed in 1949, although at first without the butterfly feature.⁣ ⁣ Like all Heywood-Wakefield furniture, this table is built from solid, high-grade Northern Yellow Birch from sustainable US tree farms. It’s made to last 100 years or longer, which is why so many of our pieces are passed down from generation to generation.⁣ ⁣ Even with its strong construction and sturdiness, this table features a particularly streamlined design and is ideal for smaller dining rooms.
