Vintage Eagle Lock Company Trunk
Product details
Seller's Notes:Beautiful 1920/1930s Vintage Trunk by the Eagle Lock Company (Terryville, CT 1854 - 1943) operated a showroom in the historic Cary Building at 105 Chambers Street in New York City in the early part of the 20th Century. This trunk has no doubt lived many lives before it was purchased at the Brooklyn Flea many years ago. Full of vintage charm, this metal & wood storage trunk features a slightly domed top, 2 side latches and a central lock fob. It also has 4 small wheels at the base for easy repositioning - although it is deceptively light (22 lbs) and can be carried if needed. Made of painted metal with a wooden frame - it still has the original art deco wallpaper style lining (albeit in a very fragile state, missing in some places - could be partially restored or replaced). Some cosmetic alterations had been done by Brooklyn flea vendor - this trunk has many good years left and I hate to part with it - but we're downsizing and it's time to find it a loving home. In true Jazz Age fashion - it sat at the foot of my bed and was used to store gloves, antique jewelry & accessories, and other treasures.
