Seller's Notes:I purchased this STUNNING 1960s vintage sofa (with its matching chair- also available) from a lovely couple who had it under plastic since the 1960s, it is in amazing condition for being 60 years old. It is a custom made one of a kind sofa made by the Deutsche Bros. of Chicago with very romantic beautiful hand carved wood details of birds and floral motifs, and gorgeous ivory and gold brocade fabric. Perfect statement piece for your living room or studio, or really special for your wedding for one of a kind photos and lounging for your guests. Elegant and beautifully preserved, this rare 1960s French Provincial- style sofa features its original ivory and gold brocade upholstery, ornate hand carved bird and floral wood detailing, and classic tufted backrest. Commissioned as a custom piece, this sofa has been exceptionally well cared for and retains original upholstery. Condition Notes: The result of being covered in plastic since the 1960s and staying with one owner for 6 decades is amazingly no tears in the fabric or noticeable stains (there is a small stain on the underside of a cushion), but as expected with a 60 year piece, there are a few minor signs of age, including light cushion discoloration, and one of the legs got chipped in a move — pictured. These are subtle and do not detract from the overall presentation or structural integrity.
