Vintage 1938 French Advertising Poster - LuLu Biscuits
Product details
Seller's Notes:This is an original vintage advertising poster created in the late 1930's to promote a biscuit called Le Petit Ecolier (The Little Student). The poster depicts a traditionally clothed French schoolboy eating his favorite biscuit, made by the Lefevre Utile (LU) Biscuit Company. That same biscuit is still being produced to this day. The artist, Fermin Bouisset, was well regarded for his lifelike portrayal of children in many posters that he created for the Lefevre Utile Company. The paper and image sizes measure a billboard-like 49" x 70.5". This poster from France was printed using stone lithographic plates and it has been archivally mounted onto linen to preserve and protect the fragile paper of the poster. This is an original poster, not a reproduction. Original posters have become highly sought-after by collectors of prints and fine artworks. From an edition of an unknown number. Original price + gallery framing $2,700. Selling because we are moving and redecorating for $1,900.
