Seller's Notes:This beautiful antique free-standing Victorian Fireplace Screen was screaming for a new life! After carefully hand cleaning, I decided to draw a pastel that looked like a "sand painting in a jar" using the framed element as the "container". All of the original brass findings are intact and the framed drawing can easily be raised or lowered on the stem. Part of the charm of this piece is the repair to the base which adds to the overall beauty and understanding of the past life of this work. Recently displayed at the Flatbush Artists Studio Tour.
