Seller's Notes:This classic Americana mid-century 2-drawer hardwood nightstand is part of a set (desk and dresser listed separately), made by Sumter Cabinet Company in South Carolina, USA. It features an intricately carved pattern band near the top, detailed brass drawer pulls, carved reed style columns, fully removable drawers, interlocking wood-on-wood drawer guides, and continuous side casing for strength and durability. Sumter Cabinet Company made high quality furniture from late 19th c. until the company was sold in 1999. They built products using 28-step finishing process, with a focus on strength and durability. I inherited this set from my grandfather and it's been lovingly used for at least 50 years. As such, there are a few scratches and dings but all cosmetic. I have a non-shedding-breed dog, so if you have severe dog allergies, be aware. The dresser is clean with no sun or water damage, and has never been exposed to smoke or heavy perfumes. I'm moving to a much, much smaller home soon, so the time has come for me to pass this on to someone who will love and use it as much as I have.
