Stow & Davis Oak Dining Table w 5 Chairs 1900
Product details
Seller's Notes:This gorgeous antique quarter-sawn oak pedestal dining table was made by the renowned Stow & Davis Furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, circa 1900–1915. The beautifully grained solid oak round top opens to accommodate extension leaves (not included) and rests on a bold central pedestal with four intricately carved scroll legs — a hallmark of America’s Golden Oak period craftsmanship. The original maker’s decal is intact on the underside, confirming its authenticity. It is paired with five pressed-back oak chairs from the same era, each featuring a carved wheat motif and upholstered seats for comfort. Two of the chairs have small areas of missing decorative trim, but are otherwise in excellent structural condition. While the chairs are not original to the table, they complement it beautifully. A heavy beveled glass top (added later) offers protection while showcasing the oak grain. Perfect for collectors, antique enthusiasts, or anyone seeking a statement dining set rich with history, this is a substantial, high-quality piece built to last for generations.
