A bit about the uniqueness of MasterCraft furniture: American, 1946. Mastercraft was established by the Doezema brothers whose ancestors were cabinet-makers. In the time period of WWII, the brothers went abroad and came back home with an intent of creating furniture with an urbanized flair. Mastercraft specializes in classic chairs and case items with modern finish. After Baker Furniture's took over Mastercraft, the firm created a large number of case pieces with attached brass plaques and semi-abstract style by German designer Bernhard Rohne. The brand often used exotic wood veneers such as amboyna, yew, burl, and fruitwood, as well as brass trim. Cabinets and credenzas were built with ornate brass motifs like outlines of florals and birds or shapes that mimic Chinese characters. Furniture by Mastercraft such as tables, chairs, and cases are popular among collectors because of their bold and aesthetic design. Their furniture pieces were mostly popular among modern households.
