Seller's Notes:I bought this roughly 20 years ago at flea market in Park Slope. I'm not sure about its origins. The guy who sold it to me said it was part of a built in bookcase in an old brownstone. At some point someone painted over it white. The wood underneath the paint is very solid, I think perhaps oak, but not so sure about the backboard. This is a very sturdy piece of furniture, no wobbles. In the right space this thing looks pretty awesome. Quite a bit of character from the chipping paint and blemishes/patina that have built up over the years. Have used it in studio space to store paint and all sort of art supplies. Sad to see it go but don't have the space for it any longer.
