SET OF SIX ANTIQUE BENTWOOD CAFE CHAIRS
Product details
Seller's Notes:This is an authentic, hard-to-find set of six antique bentwood cafe chairs from the early 20th century with stamped maker's mark (under seat) of Thonet- the Austrian firm that made bentwood famous. They are a simple, fluid design, light-weight and can be stacked in pairs for storage. We loved them in our house that has since been sold. All the chairs have the patina of age, some with minor restorations. They are well- made, sturdy and functional and can be enjoyed in their natural wood or painted / lacquered for a stylish update. For a decorating idea see the photo of William Sonoma Home window In Chelsea with bentwood inspired reproduction chairs. Both DWR and RH have produced similar reproduction cafe/ bistro chairs- see this link -https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod6470212 . But this set is the real deal with better construction, design and will hold its value. For fun, I liked the image of this contemporary painting with bentwood chairs- courtesy of the Andrew Edlin Gallery. Pick up /delivery by arrangement.
