Hand-tufted rugs (the kind with a canvas-and-latex backing) shed, degrade, and typically last 10–15 years. Hand-knotted rugs last generations. You can see it clearly in the back of this rug: tight parallel warp cords with no glued canvas backing -just the knots themselves, holding the structure together. This is a rug built to outlive furniture trends. The pile is low and dense and gives the surface a quiet, sophisticated softness in natural light. Color The natural fibers are cream colored. The accent dashes are a true medium charcoal gray, likely from naturally dark-fleece wool rather than synthetic dye. The palette is neutral, working equally well with warm and cool interiors.
