Handcrafted of kiln-dried solid oak with white oak veneers Oak is wire brushed to highlight its rich grain; a sealed wax finish enhances its color Jupe extension mechanism was designed and patented by Robert Jupe in 1835, masterfully constructed using tongue-and-groove joinery 6 hidden leaves with solid metal hinges manually unfold and fan out to expand table; due to the artisan nature of its construction, table does not form a perfect circle when extended Leaves store within the table, hidden from view Legs are accented with solid cast-metal brackets Solid metal brackets are hand cast by skilled artisans employing an ancient foundry technique known in French as cire perdue (lost-wax). The brackets are individually sculpted by pouring molten metal into a custom wax mold. As the wax melts away, the finished piece emerges. This item is artisan crafted with meticulous care.
