Seller's Notes:Artwork was purchased at a Peter Lik boutique. Artwork has been hung at my apartment since I first purchased it. I am moving and unfortunately will not be keeping this piece. Peter Lik "Sky Warrior" Limited Edition 144/200Photograph. Tucson, Arizona After I negotiated with the United States Air Force for over a year, ColonelPatrick T. Kumashiro, Commander of the 309th Aerospace Maintenance andRegeneration Group, granted me access to their aircraft and missile storage andmaintenance facility in Tucson, Arizona. It was a dream come true! AMARG is acontrolled-access site, and is absolutely off-limits to anyone not employedthere as well as anyone lacking proper clearance — it’s no joke! The legendary“Boneyard” takes care of well over 4,000 aircraft making it a landscape unlikeany other place on earth! It was such a privilege and an honor to actuallyshoot here — I was blown away (nearly literally)! The scene is unreal! 10 Artist Proof /200 Limited Edition 39' x 52' in Stainless Outer Frame Purchased by Peter Lik Gallery, NYC As discarded war machines you’ll find in boneyards, these powerful feats of human engineering still offer a magnificent look intoour past. Peter Lik’s collection of framed airplane wall art presents thesemachines in both stark black and white and vibrant colors, showcasing theirsize and beauty. Whether warplanes from the 1940s or slick fightersfrom the 1980s, you’ll find aviation pictures for sale here that inspire youand adds visual interest to your home. Admire the craftsmanship of thesemachines with an up-close and personal view, giving any viewer an appreciationof the effort in their construction. Peter Lik has spent over 35 yearspushing the boundaries of fine art. A self-taught pioneer in the field oflandscape photography, he has become synonymous with pristine images ofcascading waterfalls, ethereal mountain peaks and peaceful desert canyons. Peter has been shooting expansive scenes of MotherNature his whole life. Born in Melbourne, Australia to hardworking Czechimmigrants, he never took the gift of life's beauty for granted. Peter'scatalogue of work can be traced back to the essential moment when, at 8 yearsof age, the gift of a Brownie Kodak camera from his parents set him on a coursefor destiny. Since his first, fateful snapshot of a spider web in the familygarden, Peter has followed his calling to capture and share the most beautifulplaces on earth. It was after a trip to the United States in 1984, that Peter discovered thepanoramic camera format, a defining moment in his career. Challenged with thedare to "go big or go home," Peter did both. For the next twodecades, Peter would travel back and forth between the United States and hisnative Australia, honing his craft and establishing his prominent position inthe world of fine art photography. In the late 90s, Peter took a giant leap forward, taking on a massive project now known as Spirit of America. Afterfifty thousand miles and 1,000 rolls of film, Peter had revealed landscapesfrom all 50 United States, completing the "biggest challenge of mylife." From there, it was only onward and upward for this remarkablesuccess story. In 2014, Peter shattered all world records byselling the most expensive photograph in history. Phantom, his black & white masterworkdepicting a ghostlike image at Antelope Canyon, was acquired for an astounding$6.5 million. To accompany this sale, Peter's images Illusion and EternalMoods were also acquired for $2.4 million and $1.1 million, respectively. Along with his sale of One for $1 million in 2010, Peter nowholds four spots out of the top twenty most expensive photographs ever sold. These historic acquisitions not only gained Peter international acclaim, theysecured his position as a leader in the field of fine art photography. Amongst the hundreds ofprestigious accolades and merits garnered over the years, Peter has beenawarded the title of Master Photographer from the Australian Institute ofProfessional Photography, Professional Photographers of America, Federation ofEuropean Photographers and Master Photographers International along withFellowships from the British Institute of Professional Photographers, TheAmerican Society of Photographers and The Royal Photographic Society. Lik's masterworks include Pele'sWhisper (shown above), SacredSunrise, EternalBeauty and the highly acclaimed Ghost. He has sold upwards of $700 million of artwork to his many valued collectors, including royalty, presidents and celebrities. Peter's images can be viewed inluxurious hotels, prominent estates, leading corporate offices and in all ofhis galleries around the US.
