Seller's Notes:A pair of early 19th century, simple, elegant scholar's armchairs each with a humpbacked headrest supported by "S" curved splat on hard wood seat. The shaped armrest continues to front legs. The square legs are reinforced by box stretchers. Purchased from reputable Hong Kong antique dealer. Recent crack in top bar on one chair will require some repair (see photos).
