Seller's Notes:Beautiful one of a kind ~13-year old MCM-style walnut dining table originally purchased at Half Crown Design (http://www.halfcrowndesign.com ; Instagram @halfcrowndesign). What makes this table particularly unique and unusual in design is that it has a two board slab walnut top that is book matched (consecutive pieces from the same tree). Most dining table tops are made up of many boards from different trees, but it’s not the case for this one. The inlays in the bases are steel. To build a table similar today would be in the $15,000 - $20,000 range. There are a few scratches on the table and one small circular burn mark (that actually kind of looks like a knot in the wood, so it is pretty discrete). The major surface defects are highlighted in the picture. This table is matched with Half Crown Chairs that are currently in the range of ~$3500/chair depending on seat fabric. These ones are made of walnut of same color (probably different tree though!) and a dark blue/green leather. Again, some minor scuffs and marks on the chairs that can be minimized further with extra polish and care. Two of the chairs snapped at the base of the back rest, and were beautifully serviced by RARE restoration (https://www.rarebrookline.com/) who installed vertical steel rods in there, making those 2 chairs virtually unbreakable! The servicing is unnoticeable unless you look under the chair where you would notice the steel rods. These two chairs are also slightly heavier than the other four. Total original value estimated between $36,000-$41,000. Email proof of this price estimate from the table builders can be provided. With depreciation and the minor scuffs and mark, asking price is ~30-40% that of the original price. Because the table is solid wood, you can have the top refinished in the future for a new look, and I can refer you to a company that can help.
