Seller's Notes:MORGANTON SERPENTINE SIDEBOARD Vintage, high quality, cherry furniture made by Morganton Furniture Company (established in the 1940s). This Morganton Serpentine Sideboard, which is approximately 70 years-old and comes from a child-free, pet-free, and smoke-free home. The cherry color is a rich medium-dark brown with auburn undertones. As with other fine woods, its varying tones draw attention to its innate beauty and grain. MORGANTON SERPENTINE SIDEBOARD This gracefully curved cherry sideboard has three vertical frontal sections. • Overall dimensions: 21"D x 35.5"H x 62"W • Center section: has a bank of four drawers (27"W x 18"Deep x 5"H). • End sections: Each of the end sections has single top drawer(13"W X 15"Deep x 5"H) and cabinet underneath that has an interior measurement of 13"W x 16"Deep x 21"H. Each cabinet contains an inner half-shelf to maximize storage of short and tall items. • Design: Duncan Phyfe • Construction: All drawers have dovetailed woodwork. Top right drawer is divided and felt-lined for storing silverware. • Hardware: Original • Condition: Excellent; high-sheen finish with few minor scratches and barely noticeable split in veneer edging, located above top right drawer (see photo). The left-side curved edge of sideboard requires minor gluing along a 5"x1"-stretch of veneer (see photo; will not be visible. Actually, I never even noticed this until I was inspecting the piece to report any "blemishes"). The MORGANTON DUNCAN PHYFE DOUBLE PEDESTAL DINING TABLE has double pedestal with tripod legs; each leg has brass-tipped foot. • Table: 40"D x 29.5"H x 60"W, includes 2 leaves (each 12"W) that expand table length to 84". • Table Pads: 1 set covers the standard table size (40"D x 60"W) and 2 additional cover pads protect the two leaves (underside of 1 pad is slightly worn but it is not visible and is fully functional) • Design: Duncan Phyfe • Condition: Excellent finish with a few minor nicks on the edge, which will not be noticeable with a touch-up furniture color. The MORGANTON DINING CHAIR SET have pierced splat-style chair backs, Marlborough-style legs, and upholstered seats. • Set of 6: includes two arm chairs and four side chairs. • Design: Duncan Phyfe • Condition: All chairs are solid construction, finish is good on four chairs, fair on two. Upon close scrutiny, all six chairs show some degree of scuffs and nicks, here and there, but touch up with a furniture stain stick should suffice. (One arm chair has a detached arm that needs to be screwed back into chair back and leg and has several surface cracks in the chair-back splat work. But both chair and arm are in good, sturdy condition.) Seat upholstery on all six chairs is clean, unstained, and comfortable. (The cost for the Table and six chairs is $425.)
