Its original natural-colored microsuede upholstery does have some staining and discoloration, so a couple years ago, we had this colorful floral embroidered slipcover made to match a more "grown-up" kids' room. There are talented seamstresses on Etsy who have patterns for the Luca slipcover so you can customize it further if you prefer.
