Seller's Notes:This vintage Turkish flat-weave kilim rug features a Bessarabian style, whose origins are traced to Romania and select European styles. Handmade with flat woven wool circa 1950-1960, this particular mid-century Bessarabian kilim features seven delicate floral arrangements laid out on a black background, which features splashes of brown placed horizontally as faint stripes throughout the piece. The vertical placement of these flowers shows the same florals in each arrangement with varying tones in their colors, reading graceful in juxtaposition to the earth tones remarking the skill of the weaver employing these yarns with meticulous detail. This vintage Turkish flat-weave kilim rug also features a border of beige, upon which flowers in red, blue, brown, pink, red, and orange are laid. These equally elegant flowers are accentuated by small green leaves and brown vines. Measuring 5’6 x 12’8, this piece would complement the space at the foot of the bed inside a bedroom among its many possibilities in this versatile size and sensibility.
