Seller's Notes:I love this desk. But I moved and there is no more room for it. The color is a beautiful medium-blond wood (closest thing I could find in wood color to describe was red oak.) I don't know what kind of wood it is, but it is solid wood and not veneer. It's very solid in structure as well, and still in great condition. The gap at the base and crack in the drawer don't affect the sturdiness at all - nothing is falling off or apart. And the gap in the base seems to just need to be hammered back together. I didn't even notice these things until I starting taking pictures for this post. Link is not to this actual desk, but to the closest desk I can find new.
