MCM 8 Drawer Dresser Founders Furniture
Product details
Seller's Notes:This is an 8 drawer dresser made out of walnut with clean lines and styling from the 1950s. All drawers are uniform in size and feature black ribbed Bakelite pulls. Each drawer glides smoothly with soft closing technology, as well as drawer locks that keep them from falling out. While many pieces of this time period were made with raised feet, this unit sits on a box frame and are flush with the floor on front and sides. They have a modular nature in that another unit can be placed next to it, creating an almost seamless look, since the dresser top does not overhang the sides or front. As the drawers have a 3/8 of an inch space between them, another unit placed next to it would have similar spacing. Only the seam at the top between two units would make it apparent that two units were placed together. All these aspects (modular, box apron base, drawer mechanisms, thin narrow pulls as hardware, and the scale of the pieces) make this dresser attributable to Jack Cartwright for Founders Furniture of North Carolina.
