Seller's Notes:This is a beautiful watercolor of the cross section of an apple by New York artist Lisa Leventhal. The piece features a pattern of circles under the fruit which gives it modern feel. It is a perfect addition a stylish kitchen or dining room. The painting is professionally framed in a chic blonde wood frame. Lisa Leventhal (b. 1950) is an artist and arts educator. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City where she studied under internationally acclaimed artists including Chuck Close and Vito Acconci (http://www.guggenheim.org/new-york/collections/collection-online/artists/bios/1529). Leventhal also received a Masters in Art Education from the College of New Rochelle where she studied painting under Sheila Kriemelman. She primarily works in watercolor and mixed media in addition to creating unique marionette puppets. Her work has been displayed at the Maui Arts Center, the Mooney Center Gallery and the Mamaroneck Artists Guild. In her teaching Leventhal specializes in educating her students about contemporary female and minority artists. She is also known for incorporating reading, math and history into her curriculum. Leventhal was a 2015 We Are One Award recipient for her outstanding teaching.
