Seller's Notes:Hope chest handmade by the Lane Cedar Chest company in Altavista, VA. Rich color, visible grain, and what appear to be brass hinges and ornamental detailing. Includes information sheet for using the chest, Lane stamp on inner lid, and a style number on the bottom. I cannot find a serial number, but other elements would appear to indicate a 1950-ish manufacture. The lock mechanism (which was recalled) has been removed. The chest does not lock at all, the list simply rest shut. The box is in very good vintage condition.
