Kling Factories 1930/40's Vintage Dresser
Product details
Seller's Notes:This large solid maple wood dresser was made by Kling Factories in Mayville, NY (Kling Factories was purchased by Ethan Allen in 1962). Based on information in the Kling online archives, this piece should date to the 1930's or 1940's. This dresser holds a lot -- it has 4 large, deep.drawers and 2 small, shallow drawers side by side at the top. It shows a lot of wear due to its age, but it is in very sturdy condition, and all the drawers work fairly well. The drawer pulls are in very good condition, but one of the pulls was replaced at some point, and is a little different from the others (see photo). This piece is in need of re-varnishing. As you can see in the photos, the varnish is flaking off on the top, and there is a long, thin crack in the top as well. The rest of the dresser is in better condition, with marks and some staining. .There is a water stain in the back, but this piece is meant to be set against a wall, so the stain is not visible. The original Kling Factories label is still attached to the back. This dresser was purchased new by my husband's grandfather and has been in our family ever since. However, we are installing built in drawers in our closets to free up more room in our apartment, so we no longer have need for a dresser.
