The frame around the bottom of the mirror forms a shelf where you can put your mobile phone or wallet. My comments: I purchased this mirror 2 years ago from IKEA, but was away during the pandemic for 18 months so have only had 6 months use of it. I love this mirror, it's a beautiful walnut veneer and looks really stylish with the increasing frame depth from top to bottom. It looks really elegant over a console table/sideboard, and if I weren't moving, I'd have definitely kept it as it's one of my favorite items of decor in my apartment! I am also selling the IKEA Stockholm Coffee Table and Sideboard if you are interested in matching sets.
