Sturdy butcher block top in solid oak. Remainder of island is solid wood in oak and birch. 2 spacious storage shelves are solid wood with stainless steel tops. On opposite of island there is seating space for 2 stools. Matching Ikea Stenstorp stools included. Island measurements are approx. 49.5" L x 31" W x 35.5 H. This island is a cult favorite because it serves as a central kitchen work center, great storage space, and dining table all in one. As someone who works from home, I've also used it as a makeshift work desk. It originally retailed for $399.99 from Ikea and typically sells used for $300+ because of its popularity and durability. It's a quality piece that will last for years, and has been a lifesaver for me in my NYC studio apartment with a combined kitchen/living room and few storage cabinets or room for an actual dining table. Purchased 5 years ago. Selling because I'm moving to a new apartment; however, if I were able to use this piece in my new place, I would! There are some stains on the butcher block and chairs (see photos) that you'd expect from a piece used for a few years; adding some seat cushions to the chairs will improve both comfort and appearance. It is also very customizable - search online for Ikea hacks of Stenstorp islands and you'll see tons of examples of how people have changed the base color, stained the wood top a different color, added sides to conceal items stored on the stainless steel shelves, etc. Rather than buying a new island of similar size and functionality, save yourself some money and the stress of assembly by taking this piece at a bargain.
