Seller's Notes:For sale. IKEA Holmsund sofa-bed. Barely used, in extremely good shape and looks like new (apart from scuffs I added, sorry, see photos). Current retail price is $1149 + tax + shipping, approx total $1300. Some important notes. – I am not the first owner. – I am selling this after just 3 weeks because it is too big for my apartment. – My houseguests stayed 7 nights (last week) and said it is extremely comfortable for sleeping. They slept on it pulled open into its big, comfortable bed position. Queen sheets fit pretty nicely. – It has a very faint odor from previous ownership that I cannot put my finger on. (I am hypersensitive.) My houseguests could not detect the odor, and they were sleeping on it for a week – it is faint. Maybe a combination of fading Febreze and something else? – There are some scuff marks on the lower right corner. This is from where I moved the thing up one flight of stairs by myself. Oops. There is also one tiny red dot on the fabric, like one pixel in size, which is otherwise pretty spotless. See photos. – All of the covers of absolutely every part of the sofa-bed are removable and washable. Even the 5 loose cushions's covers. (This is NOT true for most of IKEA’s sofa-beds, but it is true for the Holmsund.) Or even totally replaceable from IKEA in a choice of 4 colors – amazing. – The sofa-bed is pretty huge. For safe moving, I will detach the back and the arms. The back simply slides into brackets on each end, and is ‘locked’ in the bracket by re-tightening one screw. The two arms simply slide down into place and are ‘locked’ by snapping the allen wrenches (or aluminum substitutes, included) into the plastic holders. Done. IKEA’s engineers are really pretty brilliant. See IKEA’s Holmsund assembly instructions online if you need to — but really you only need to do the absolutely easiest last steps. All the crazy detailed original assembly is already done and you’ll never need to do any of it. In my opinion, a big plus for buying it this way. NOTE re photos: (1) Sorry about the varied color cast. In reality, the sofa-bed is white with a small hint of gray in the whiteness. (2) The arms are straight across the top, of course — the apparent curve in the side-view photos is just because of my phone’s lens. (3) You can see more photos on the IKEA website.
