Seller's Notes:We bought the the Herman Miller Noguchi Rudder Table in Ebony Maple from Design Within Reach a little over a year ago and it does not work with the layout of our new apartment. The table is listed for sale at Design Within Reach for $1360 plus tax and $299 in-home delivery fee, with seven weeks wait time (link below). Product Details Dimensions H 15.75" W 49.75" D 35.75" Materials Ebonized maple and chromed steel. Description Following his apprenticeship with the legendary Constantin Brancusi, sculptor Isamu Noguchi began to experiment in environmental design, theatrical sets and, eventually, product design. He created his first furniture prototypes for Herman Miller in 1942, later going on to work with other companies such as Steuben and Zenith. His Rudder Table (1949) features an asymmetrical form composed of mixed materials: warm wood and sleek chromed steel. The shape of its top – the same as that of the renowned Noguchi® Table – and the combination of metal and wood legs are true to Noguchi’s original design. At a quick glance, the subtle metal hairpin legs almost disappear, suggesting the top rests solely on the rudder-shaped wood leg, imparting airiness to the whole. This is the authentic Noguchi Rudder Table produced by Herman Miller. Ships flat; simple assembly required. Made in U.S.A.
