Seller's Notes:This is a large solidly made wood chest/bureau/ armoire/media center/wardrobe, a modern take on the tansu. (Greentea Design). ---The top cabinet doors roll inside to disappear, and the unit has been retrofit with a slide-out TV tray to handle wide-screen TVs, but I've been using it as a combo wardrobe and bureau. One chest sits on top of the other. It's made of sustainably sourced wood (possibly rosewood? solid, with ply pieces as backing/inside), with Japanese joinery and hand-forged iron handles, pretty removable drawers. It's in good vintage condition, some nicks, scratches, and rubbing, but impressive and lovely. Note: the top of the piece has a one clean long crack and one more jagged, both in the top lid (not visible if you're not 6'2 or taller); the bottom piece is all whole; it all holds together, though, and is so heavy that it's quite solid.
