Seller's Notes:This Grange Directoire Rochambeau dining armchair is a beautiful example of French craftsmanship, made from solid cherry wood with elegant period-style detailing. The chair shows signs of use, including wear on the arms and scuffing on the legs and body. The seat has some stains, but they may be easily removed with professional cleaning. Grange, a highly regarded French furniture maker since 1904, was known for its exceptional quality and timeless designs. The company was one of the first to introduce reinterpreted period furniture to the U.S. market in the 1980s. Production ceased in 2018. At some point, chairs from this same line were sold through Sotheby’s Home.
