Seller's Notes:Early 20th Century Antique Javanese Indonesian Reverse Glass Painting Photos don't do justice to this reverse glass painting. Circa 1920s it shows a wayanag kulit (shadow puppet) leading men atop a large golden-scaled fish with black whiskers and pointed teeth. Two rows with six golden fish with purple faces swim in the foreground. The colours are vibrant! The wood frame is scuffed in places but the painting itself is pristine. A strikingly beautiful example of this Southeast Asian art form. In the frame it measures 17.5" W x 13.25" H x 0.75"D
