Product details
Seller's Notes: THESE SPECTACULAR 1940's original wall sconces were bought in Manhattan in 1979 at the famous Doyle Galleries on the Upper East Side. They have been kept in their box ever since. THAT'S BECAUSE we never quite had the right wall for them -- even though they were cherished. There are no visible signs of any wear or tear. They would look terrific in nearly every apartment -- and would be a show-stopper in a hallway, living room, den or bedroom. They are truly works of art. Each sconce weighs about 14 pounds and is very substantial -- they were purchased at auction for $1500 each. The detail in the metal frame is exquisite and the lovely red roses on each corner are superbly done. The white marble inserts are in perfect condition and are somewhat cloudy...so any light, as can be seen by the picture, shines through them. They are remarkable and in perfect condition. A rare find and huge bargain.
